About this artwork

Albrecht Dürer, a well known German artist and theorist from the German Renaissance era, was responsible for the creation of the 'Self Portrait.' He completed this piece of art in 1498, using oil on a wooden panel, after his maiden voyage to Italy. In the portrait, Dürer shows himself in a half-length pose, peering towards the audience from beneath an arch. His figure occupies a significant portion of the picture, ranging from the hat that almost touches the top border of the canvas to his arm resting on the lower ledge, with his hands elegantly wrapped in luxurious gloves.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

Very large prints are always sent by express service.

About the artist

Albrecht Dürer was a German painter, printmaker, and theorist of the Renaissance period. He was born in Nuremberg in 1471 and is best known for his woodcuts, engravings, and paintings. His works are well known for their technical skill and detail, and he is considered one of the greatest artists of the Northern Renaissance. He was also a mathematician and philosopher, and wrote extensively on the theory of art.
