About this artwork

Franz Marc was an influential painter from Germany who played a significant role in German Expressionism. In 1912, he created 'Red Deers', a stunning piece showcasing two deer, attentively listening to their environment with ears laid flat and heads turned. Marc was especially fascinated with deer, creating many representations while residing in Sindelsdorf, a quaint village in Bavaria, Germany.

Express service for unframed print and posters by Royal Mail Special Delivery to arrive the next working day for an additional cost. Framed prints are always shipped by express courier.

UK - £3.95 for unframed items by 1st Class Packetpost
UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

Very large prints are always sent by express service.

About the artist

Franz Marc (February 8, 1880 – March 4, 1916) was a German Expressionist painter and printmaker. He was a founding member of Der Blaue Reiter (The Blue Rider), an influential group of artists in Munich. His works were heavily influenced by the works of Vincent van Gogh and Paul Gauguin, as well as the abstract elements of the French and Russian avant-garde. Marc was a deeply spiritual person and believed that art should express the spiritual in nature. He was killed in World War I at the age of 36.
