About the artist
Born in 1956, Londoner John Horsewell grew up amidst a family of artists. At school, he discovered his affinity for oil painting, which he used to express his unique vision of colour and light. Even while working in interior design, he painted and showcased his work, gradually gaining recognition across major cities. After studying art, Horsewell started his professional painting journey, originally mirroring his father's style. But as time passed, he developed a distinctive touch. By 1978, he fully committed to art and found his work celebrated in the US, Japan, and Britain. Today, he lives on the Essex-Suffolk border, painting his love of the countryside. His work, a blend of the impressionistic style of John Haskins and Myles Birkett Foster's soft colours and detail, is highly regarded in galleries.
