About this artwork

"War Weapons Week in a Country Town" is an oil painting by the British artist, Michael Ford, created in 1941 at the onset of World War II. The piece beautifully captures a small town's street scene where locals are partaking in the War Weapons Week. This campaign was orchestrated to prompt people to invest in war bonds and similar projects, as an effort to supply the nation with arms prior to America entering the war. This reproduction of the original painting has been colour-matched and endorsed by the Imperial War Museum. Every sale contributes to the museum's work.
