About this artwork
Throughout World War II, folks had to have a gas mask on them at all times. Bold wartime ads like these were made to keep people aware of potential gas attacks that could happen any time. As the war went on, the content of London Transport's posters shifted towards aiding passengers with safe travel. This artwork is a true-to-life reproduction of an historic poster from the archive at the London Transport Museum. Every buy contributes to the ongoing efforts of the museum.
