Henry Moore was a British sculptor and artist who was born in 1898 and died in 1986. He is renowned for his semi-abstract monumental bronze sculptures which are located around the world. His style was influenced by primitive art, Surrealism and the work of other artists such as Picasso. Moore's sculptures are often abstract forms which are usually inspired by the human body. Moore's work has been exhibited in many galleries and museums around the world, including the Tate Gallery in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Art Institute of Chicago.
He was awarded the Order of Merit in 1963 and was made a Companion of Honour in 1968. Moore was also awarded the Grand Prize for Sculpture at the Venice Biennale in 1948. Henry Moore's art is highly sought after and his work is admired by many. Art prints of his work are available to purchase, allowing admirers to bring a piece of his art into their home.
