He first dipped his brushes into Japanese style painting as a student under Katsukawa Shunsui and Ko Sukoku, before branching out into woodblock prints. His early masterpieces were deeply influenced by the work of Harunobu Suzuki.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eNot long after, he began to specialize in crafting head and bust portraits of actors, highlighting their unique traits within his designs. Additionally, Shunshô’s bijin-ga images, which are woodblock prints and paintings of beautiful women, are now cherished collectibles for ukiyo-e collectors.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eAs a mentor, Shunshô nurtured many students in the art of woodblock design.
