Lizzie Hillier, a seasoned Printmaker of Fine Art, got her training in Fine Art Print from Goldsmiths College, London, and further pursued MA Design at the University of Brighton. She's experienced working with block printers in India on international projects, creating design collections. Lizzie currently calls East Sussex, UK home, where she lives and works.
Her work bursts with dynamic textures and broad colour fields. Lizzie strikes a balance through a mix of logical and instinctive choices, with her approach anchored in both. Her art is a lively interplay of directness, immediacy, chance, and structure, resulting in atmospheric and uplifting works.
Energetic gestures in her work mimic elements of the earth, ocean, and sky. Her pieces serve as a medium, expressing her environmental experiences via colour, texture, and form. Lizzie investigates the friction between solid forms and liquid surfaces. Playing with translucency and opacity, she layers colours for depth and brightness. She manoeuvres through contrasting visual language in her work, examining relational elements to find equilibrium.
