About this artwork

Alphonse Mucha was a well known painter, illustrator, and graphic artist from the Czech Republic, who spent most of his career in Paris, France. He initially got into poster design for monetary concerns, but in time, Mucha made a name for himself in the industry thanks to his unique style and ornamental designs. Back in 1898, Mucha created a print featuring a woman in a creative outfit, casually holding a magazine on her lap, for the esteemed French publisher F. Champenois.
