He spent most of his career in France and it was here, in 1917, that he crossed paths with Jeanne Hébuterne, a fellow painter and model. It didn't take long for sparks to fly and the two quickly fell head over heels for each other. Hébuterne ended up playing a key role in Modigliani's work, often serving as his muse.One of Modigliani's well known works is 'Jeanne Hebuterne in a Yellow Jumper'. In this piece, he presented Hébuterne with exaggerated curves, particularly her hips and thighs.
