About the artist

Born in Derby in 1969, artist Andrew Bird pursued studies in Graphic Design and Design Communication across UK institutions. Since 2011, his works have graced various national exhibitions, including the London-based 20/21 British and International Art Fairs. Landscape and coastal elements of the UK dominate his art, which he has created full-time since 2010. Drawing inspiration from Derbyshire and Cornwall's natural allure, Bird incorporates rugged textures into his pieces through layers of scraped and reworked materials. The artist's impressions of Cornwall - from busy harbors to changing weather - simplify yet preserve the essence of observed forms and hues.
