Kennedy, Warhol unveiled a huge range of silk screens known as Jackie in 1964. This collection further heightened Warhol’s lifelong interest in portraiture as a form of biography. In the Jackie series, pieces have suitable titles like The Week That Was and Jackie Frieze. Each silk screen in these works represents the varying emotional states of Jackie Kennedy on the tragic day her husband was killed. Warhol also incorporated the dramatic images of the First Lady’s face filled with shock and grief at his funeral in Washington D.C. later that week. Later in 1964, Warhol introduced three more Jackie portrait silk screens, naming them Red Jackie and Blue Jackie. These works are often called the \"Hyannisport\" Jackies because the 1960 source photo of Jackie was captured at the Kennedy family's holiday retreat in Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
