Camille Pissarro was a painter who hailed from Denmark and France and played a significant role in the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art scenes. He created an oil on canvas painting in 1872 titled 'The Road to Louveciennes’. This stunning piece showcases a trail leading to Louveciennes, a small town situated in the west suburbs of Paris.

About the artist

Camille Pissarro (10 July 1830 – 13 November 1903) was a Danish-French Impressionist and Neo-Impressionist painter born on the island of St Thomas. He was a key figure in the development of both Impressionism and Post-Impressionism and was one of the first artists to embrace the use of plein-air painting. Pissarro was also a teacher to many of the great artists of the early 20th century, including Paul Cézanne, Georges Seurat, and Paul Gauguin. He was also a close friend of Claude Monet and Auguste Renoir.
