About the artist
Charles Ernest Cundall was a British painter and printmaker, born in 1868 in London. He was a member of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and was known for his etchings and drypoints of landscapes and architectural scenes. Cundall was a prolific artist, producing over 500 etchings and drypoints during his lifetime. He was also a teacher, teaching at the Royal College of Art and the Slade School of Fine Art. His works are held in many public collections, including the British Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.
