About the artist

Don Honeyman, born in 1919, joined American "Vogue" in 1940. Initially assisting photographers such as Horst and Steichen, by 1941 he photographed celebrities and fashion. After Pearl Harbour, he became an army movie cameraman, with some combat films used in documentaries. Post-war, due to an overflow of photographers at Vogue, he opened French "Vogue's" studios in Paris. It was there that he met Gitta Sereny, his wife and an author. Honeyman later returned to London, opened his own studios in 1963, and focused more on picture stories with Sereny. His well known work includes a solarised print of Che Guevara.
