About this artwork

Eugene Louis Boudin was a pioneer among French landscape artists, being one of the first to paint en plein air. His specialty was painting landscapes of northern France's coast, like this particular piece depicting a beach in Trouville, a popular vacation spot in Normandy. Boudin's work is known for its remarkable accuracy and detail, thanks to his practice of working directly from nature. This print has been carefully colour-matched to the original and has received the seal of approval from the Courtauld Gallery. Each sale of this print helps support the ongoing work of the Courtauld.
