About the artist
Born into a world where linguistic symbols held importance, thanks to his Egyptologist mother, Mark Cabral developed a lifelong fascination with linguistics and codes. This interest blossomed into painting and printmaking during his high school years, with Mark showcasing noteworthy talent and gaining extensive printmaking skills through internships. Post-high school, he relocated to Chicago to immerse himself in its rich museum and gallery culture. At The Glore Print Room, he fine-tuned his etching technique, taking cues from early Renaissance engravings and contemporary masters alike. The outcome? A distinct postmodern approach to semiotics and colour, marked by simple yet effective imagery. Now globally acclaimed, Mark's work graces collections and exhibitions in the United States and beyond.
