About this artwork
Back in 1969, when the Vietnam War was in full swing, John Lennon, who was the Beatles' co-lead singer and guitarist, and his wife Yoko Ono, staged a non-violent protest that lasted two weeks, which they dubbed 'Bed-ins for Peace'. The concept was inspired by a sit-in, a protest approach where the demonstrators sit and stay in a location, like in front of or inside a business, until they're kicked out, arrested, or their demands are satisfied.
