About this artwork

Andy Warhol constantly delved into the concepts of fame and notoriety in his lifetime. During the 60s, he created paintings and prints featuring numerous celebrities such as Debbie Harry, Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, and Elvis Presley. Subsequently, in the 70s and 80s, he was hired by countless wealthy and well known individuals to make their portraits. This practice of creating commissioned portraits gave Warhol another chance to chronicle his surroundings and serves as an enduring account of European and American culture during that era.

Express service for unframed print and posters by Royal Mail Special Delivery to arrive the next working day for an additional cost. Framed prints are always shipped by express courier.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.
International - Unframed by Registered AirMail or by premium express courier (select at checkout).
Very large prints are always sent by express service.

About the artist

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers. Warhol's life and work were marked by controversy, his open embrace of celebrity culture, and his collaboration with many of the leading artists of his time.
