About this artwork

Back in '63, Andy Warhol whipped up his famous Elvis artwork series. In these pieces, he employed a silver paint backdrop on the canvas, overlaid with a black, silkscreen image of Elvis Presley in his gunslinger role from the movie Flaming Star. By doing this, Warhol was tipping his hat to the silver screen of Hollywood, featuring one of its biggest and most iconic stars.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

About the artist

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers. Warhol's life and work were marked by controversy, his open embrace of celebrity culture, and his collaboration with many of the leading artists of his time.
