About this artwork

Andy Warhol frequently revisited themes that caught his attention throughout his career. He created a few exceptional floral pieces while he was doing commercial illustration work back in the 1950s. His most well known series of flowers, which were vibrant and covered the entire canvas, came out in the 1960s. The pieces were displayed in various ways and the use of the silkscreen process gave them a unique, inherently abstract look. Fast forward to the 1980s, Warhol put together a floral design proposal for the Tacoma Dome's exterior. He liked the resulting images so much that they inspired him to create a series of Daisy screen-prints.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

About the artist

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers. Warhol's life and work were marked by controversy, his open embrace of celebrity culture, and his collaboration with many of the leading artists of his time.
