About this artwork

Andy Warhol had a consistent habit of drawing, except for a break he took from 1963 to 1972. He started as an art student in the 1940s and continued working until just a few weeks before passing away in 1987. His signature "blotted line" style was a big hit, especially in commercial work. He was so sought after for commercial gigs, especially his shoe illustrations, that he had to bring on assistants to help with the workload. He even had his mom doing some of his lettering! This team approach would later become the model for his New York City studio, famously known as the Factory.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

Very large prints are always sent by express service.

About the artist

Andy Warhol (1928-1987) was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement. Warhol's art used many types of media, including hand drawing, painting, printmaking, photography, silk screening, sculpture, film, and music. He was also a pioneer in computer-generated art using Amiga computers. Warhol's life and work were marked by controversy, his open embrace of celebrity culture, and his collaboration with many of the leading artists of his time.
