About this artwork
Check out this self-portrait by Anna Zinkeisen. She's captured herself staring boldly at her surroundings, identifying her place in the world as an artist, a woman, and a hard worker. Zinkeisen wasn't just an artist, she also volunteered her time as a casualty nurse. You can tell by the bracelet on her wrist that carries the emblem of St John's Ambulance Brigade.
