About this artwork
Audrey Hepburn, born on May 4, 1929 and died on January 20, 1993, was a British actress originally from Belgium. She was well known as both a trailblazer in the film industry and a fashion icon. Hepburn's rise to fame happened in the 1950s when she landed several lead roles in movies made during Hollywood's Golden Age. This particular photograph was snapped during the 1964 musical drama 'My Fair Lady.' Hepburn starred as Eliza Doolittle, a poor Cockney flower peddler. The pink dress and the exaggerated floral hat she's sporting in this image were created by Cecil Beaton, a top British fashion designer, specifically for the movie's final scene.
