About this artwork

Spencer Gore was an English artist who primarily painted landscapes, interiors, and music halls, drawing his inspiration from the Post-Impressionist style. Between 1909 and 1912, he lived in a front room at 31 Mornington Crescent, situated in Camden, London. It was here that he created the famous painting 'Mornington Crescent.' This artwork showcased the view from his window, capturing the crescent's curve and the lush garden that existed until 1926 when it was converted into a cigarette factory.
