About this artwork
In the late 1800s, Japanese artist Taiyensai Yoshimaru created a series of woodcut prints, one of which was 'Scene from a Genji Parody.' These artworks significantly influenced well known European artists like Vincent Van Gogh and Edward Manet. The colours used in this print have been meticulously matched to the original and have received approval from the Courtauld Gallery. Additionally, every purchase helps support the Courtauld's ongoing work.
