About this artwork

Franz Marc was a well known German artist, hugely influential in the German Expressionist movement. He is the mastermind behind 'The Blue Fox', a 1911 painting that depicts a laid-back fox enveloped by stark and striking primary colors. Marc often opted for animals as his main subjects, as he believed they embodied a unique sense of purity.
