About the artist
Born on June 17, 1942, Jennifer Durrant RA is a well known British artist. Educated at Brighton College of Art and the prestigious Slade School of Art, she has earned acclaim for her abstract work which teems with symbolic resonance and subtle hints of natural processes. Her art, often associated with spirituality, serves as a tool for meditation or contemplation. Her notable display was at 'The Journey' in 1990 where her painting, 'Arrival', graced Lincoln Cathedral. She started working at Stockwell Depot in 1971, lauded by critic Clement Greenberg. As a visiting lecturer, she taught at various art schools and served as an artist-in-residence in Cyprus and Oxford. Since 2000, she's been crafting art in her studio in Umbria, Italy, while maintaining a home in her birthplace, Brighton.
