About this artwork
"An enchanting world comes to life, partially revealed and elusive. It's like looking at Rorschach inkblots, where viewers are encouraged to discover and decipher their own symbols in the ambiguous visual scene. Observations include clouds, reflections, and fragments of landscape and coastline. Using various materials like paint, pencil, fabric, collage, and metallic, I create rhythm through patterns and marks. My painting process is organic, applying several layers of paint, mark, and collage to construct the picture space. This method conjures glimpses, concealed spaces, partially revealed elements, and suggestions. I employ subtle layers of texture, sketching, and colour to generate an undefined space. The image undergoes continuous modification until the "hidden" comes to light. Only when a state of balance and integration is reached do I consider the painting complete. I like to think of my works as "visual poems". This sensual realm is designed to be immersive, to be experienced viscerally, and to bring pleasure." - Ele Pack
