The Midsummer Downs collection is a final series of 18 pieces, put together by the artist during summer 2020 as a joyful diversion from the woes of the Covid pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.The artist, who lives on the Sussex coast and the South Downs, was inspired by her surroundings. Faye began painting on multiple canvases at once, allowing her more creative freedom. She combined her characteristic bold brush strokes with layers of colour and lines. Her recent addition of fluorescent paint to her colour spectrum encapsulates the luminosity and brilliance within these abstract landscapes, reflecting the emotions of this extraordinary summer in its full, intense splendor.Faye Bridgewater, the artist behind these pieces, boasts prestigious awards like the John Purcell prise from The Royal Institute of Painters and Watercolours, and the 2020 Derwent Art Prise (Peoples Choice).
