About this artwork
Audrey Hepburn, born on May 4, 1929 and died on January 20, 1993, was a British actress from Belgium who was widely admired as both a film and fashion symbol. Hepburn's stardom took off in the 1950s when she took on several leading roles in films made during Hollywood's Golden Age. In 1961, she was featured in the American rom-com 'Breakfast at Tiffany’s', playing Holly Golightly, a quirky and innocent girl from a café society who ends up falling for a struggling writer. The promotional image shows Hepburn dressed in the well-known Givenchy dress from the introduction scene, perfectly paired with a Roger Scemama necklace and a long cigarette holder.
