About this artwork
Check out this excellent print! It's inspired by a colour-printed, stipple engraving that's been hand-finished, known as 1. Ixia à fleurs de Phlox, 2. Niveole d'été. Langlois was the engraver around 1800, but the original creator was Pierre Joseph Redouté, born 1759 and died 1840. This comes from P. J. Redouté's work, "Choix des plus belles fleurs," which roughly translates to "Selection of the most beautiful flowers." It was published in parts in Paris, with each part containing four plates, and was distributed between 1827 and 1833. This print is from Plate 67.
