About this artwork

Around 1632-5, the well-known artist Sir Peter Paul Rubens created a painting based on the Greek myth 'The Judgement of Paris'. This piece of art showcases the iconic moment where Paris selected Venus as the most beautiful among three goddesses, following her promise of presenting him with the most gorgeous woman in the world - Helen of Sparta. Out of jealousy, Juno wreaked havoc on the Trojans, causing Paris to kidnap Helen and trigger the Trojan War. This print is made with colours that accurately match those of the original painting and has been certified by the National Gallery. Every purchase made contributes to the museum's work.

Express service for unframed print and posters by Royal Mail Special Delivery to arrive the next working day for an additional cost. Framed prints are always shipped by express courier.

UK - £6.90 for unframed items by Royal Mail Special Delivery
UK - £8.95 for framed items.

International - Shipping is calculated before you check out according to destination.

Very large prints are always sent by express service.

About the artist

Sir Peter Paul Rubens (1577-1640) was a Flemish Baroque painter, draughtsman and diplomat. He is considered one of the most influential artists of the 17th century, and his works are well known for their dynamic composition, colour and movement. Rubens was a highly successful court painter and diplomat, and was knighted by both Philip IV, King of Spain, and Charles I, King of England. He was also a prolific artist, producing over 2000 works in his lifetime. His style was heavily influenced by classical art, and he was a master of the use of oil paint. Rubens was also a highly successful art collector, and his collection of Italian Renaissance art was one of the largest in Europe.
